This program teaches young men who have finished their junior year in high school, to learn about how our government works.
This program teaches all high school students the basics of the US Constitution. It is a two-part speech, one part prepared, one part spontaneous. It is open to all grades in high school.
Begun in 1925, this is one of the better known programs. We have sponsored at least one team over the past several decades.
We sponsor this award to one young man and one young lady at Middlebrook School, Wilton and Weston High Schools. These students display the traits of patriotism, courage, helpfulness to others, loyalty, perseverance, honesty and trustworthiness.
We enjoy working with the Scouts in our area, whether it lending our meeting hall for their meetings, or getting them service hours around the Post to Eagle and Star projects performed at the Post. These are the leaders of the future, and we are here to help in any way we are able.

With the suggestion of Post 86 member Ken Dartley, a friend of the Madras', this foundation has sent over 59,000 soccer balls as well as equipment to 58 countries.
This foundation was founded by Mike Mastrioni, who had no links to any fallen military heroes. He just wanted to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice and their families. In 2010, Mike was recognized by the Legion's Department of Conn. with their highest civilian award, The Americanism Award.
